Courses and education

We offer taster sessions throughout the year in letterpress and lino printing.  In a 2 hour Taster Session you learn to use the tools safely, cut a design, take a proof and print onto a range of papers.  Use of tools, all materials and refreshments are included in the price of £22 for adults and £12 for 12-17s (fee payable on booking).  Children must be at secondary school to cut their own design and accompanied by a responsible adult.  Family groups with younger children are welcome, with a range of printing activities being offered for children of primary school age.

We also now offer courses in White Line Woodblock Printing (the 'Provincetown' technique, which dates from 1915.  A 4 hour course plus break for lunch is £65, minimum age 16.  All materials and tools are provided.  This is a mixture of Japanese wood-cutting, water-colour painting and printing.  Kim learnt the technique from Jeanne Bouza Rose at Stromness on Orkney.

We also arrange training sessions in other printing and non-printing activities where we provide the venue for other printers and crafters to lead sessions in our Training Room or using the decked area to the rear of the Studio.  Future courses will include wood block printing and basic book binding.

If you would like to be kept informed of courses as they are arranged, check on our facebook page or email us and we will put you on the mailing list.
